The Reggio Calabria Bergamot Consortium is also making a stop in Berlin for Fruit Logistica, the world fair dedicated to the fruit and vegetable market. Together with the Region of Calabria, the Consortium will present itself in Berlin during the 2024 edition of Fruit Logistica, showcasing its fruit and essence in a context of excellence.
So in Germany, from February 7 to 9, space will be given to the Bergamot of Reggio Calabria and the Calabrian producers, represented by Ezio Pizzi. At the fair Giovanna Pizzi, producer and member of the Cda, Luigi Frammartino well-known producer of the green gold of Calabria and Salvatore Friscia producer and processor.
The event represents an important opportunity for companies in the food sector, as well as those working in food processing and the food processing industry. Calabria and its agribusinesses are positioned at the forefront, thanks to the relentless work of the Regional Department of Agriculture and Arsac. In addition to the promotion of products, the three-day Berlin event will include moments dedicated to in-depth study. In particular, on the afternoon of Feb. 7 starting at 3 p.m., in the Calabria Region area, Calabrian citrus fruits will be discussed, with a special focus precisely on the bergamot of Reggio Calabria, in a speech by the Consortium for the Protection of Bergamot of Reggio Calabria, along with the Santa Maria del Cedro citron, the clementine of Calabria and the lemon of Rocca Imperiale, which sees the conclusion of the work of the department’s director, Alessandra Celi.
“We are happy to actively participate in the Berlin event, which will see the participation of the director of the Agriculture Department, Giacomo Giovinazzo, and the regional councillor for Agriculture, Gianluca Gallo. We are convinced that we will succeed, once again, in emphasizing the importance and quality of the fruit and essential oil of Bergamot protected by the DOP trademark, on the international stage,” assures Consortium President Ezio Pizzi.
